Melissa
From a young age, Melissa dreamed of making a positive impact on the world. She imagined achieving this by winning the lottery and using the funds to provide food, water, and housing for those in need. However, a yoga teacher along her journey shifted her perspective,
explaining that true change comes from helping one person at a time and making a positive impact in their lives. This insight sparked Melissa’s desire to share the gift of yoga with others. Melissa is not sure if she found yoga or if yoga found her, but she is grateful for the encounter. Years ago, she struggled with anxiety, insomnia and chronic neck pain, feeling frustrated and unhappy as she went through the motions of life. In search of natural remedies for her physical and mental discomfort, Melissa discovered yoga. As she began practicing, she experienced a profound sense of peace and relaxation that she had never felt before. Her regular practice led to improved sleep, reduced anxiety and relief from her neck pain. Witnessing these positive changes in her own life fueled Melissa’s desire to deepen her knowledge. She enrolled in a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training through Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. After graduating, she was eager to help others experience the life-changing benefits of yoga and began teaching. Melissa’s journey as a teacher continues to inspire her to grow and learn. Following her initial Kripalu training, she has completed additional certifications in sound meditation, Restorative Yoga, Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga, Reiki 1, Reiki 2, Reiki Master, Reiki Master of Masters, Reiki Master Teacher and First Aid, CPR and AED. Her mission is to help individuals and businesses in staying relaxed, healthy and happy. Over the past 12 years, she has taught more than 6,000 classes, sessions, trainings and international retreats. Yoga has profoundly transformed Melissa’s life, and she is dedicated to helping others experience their own transformation.
